Unique
items of lasting value
If
the "soul" of every "genuine SEILER" is its transparent sound, then
the "face" must be the external appearance of our grand and upright
pianos. In add-ition to our concert classics, the 131cm up- right
and 240 cm grand in high-gloss black, SEILER can also offer an unparalleled
variety of inlaid work and special woods made to individual specifications,
if so requested. Here, too, the selection of quality veneers requires
con- sider- able experience and the implementation of a manufacturing
philosophy best summed up in the sentence "Created by nature and
transformed into art by SEILER".
A distinctive face
Before
the veneers are tailored to fit our grand and upright pianos, they
first have to be subjected to a complex process of refinement. They
are steamed, sliced and dried according to a special recipe and
in such a way that their visual impact is as natural as it is creative,
thus contributing to the consummate appearance of our instruments.
The work of
the inlayer, who turns precious woods into special motifs and impressive
ornaments, is no less demanding. The transformation of a drawing
into an inlaid design now ranks among the rare treasures of highly
developed craftsmanship, lovingly cultivated at SEILER for over
one and a half centuries. In addition to SEILER's complex designs
and the durable tonal beauty to which they give rise, it is the
meticulous craftsmanship which goes into the cabinets and surface
finishing of all SEILER instruments which makes them jewels of such
lasting value.
