Care & Maintenance.png
Pflege

In order to be able to enjoy your instrument for many years, we kindly ask you to read the care recommendations as well as the answers to the most frequent questions. With this knowledge and the assistance of our service technicians you can maintain your Seiler’s perfect playing condition for a small eternity.

  • 1) Frenator soft-close system
Allows smooth automatic closing of the fallboard and therefore avoids damages or injuries by a fallboard dropping shut.
  • 2) Key-bed
Made of massive spruce. Its three-layer construction provides long-lasting stability and thus a permanently precise functioning of the action.
  • 3) Tuning block
Made of cross-glued, multi-layer beech wood. Provides high stability and strong support for the string tension, which leads to an especially good stability of the tuning.
  • 4) Action
Made from around 6.000 wooden, metal, leather and felt parts. Designed state-of-the-art for professional exigencies.
  • 5) Soundboard support
Made with glued-in ribs. Thanks to its design with a curve, a connection is created that offers the soundboard best resonance conditions.
  • 6) Membrator groove
Optimises the acoustic properties of the soundboard and thus the transparent sound that is characteristic for Seiler.
  • 7) Soundboard
Made from mountain spruce with especially fine grain. It is glued to the rim in a slight curve to obtain some tension and amplifies the vibrations of the strings.
  • 8) Ribs
Made of spruce with standing growth rings. Each of these ribs has a specific form, which adds to the membrane effect of the soundboard.
  • 9) Back posts
Made of massive spruce, wedge-glued. Strut the framework, the so-called rim, which serves as a stable support for the soundboard.
  • 10) Bridge
Made from beech with a top layer of maple. Provides a tight fit of the bridge pins and a precise transmission of the strings’ vibrations to the soundboard.
  • 11) Outer rim
Made of 2,4 mm mahogany veneer stripes. Does not only provide the instrument’s nice outward appearance, but also influences its sound.
  • 12) Tone Volume Stabiliser
Creates a permanent longitudinal curve. Improves richness and projection of our sound, optimises and preserves the elasticity of the soundboard.
  • 13) Cast-iron frame
Made of high-grade cast iron (DIN1691/GG20) that does not create unwanted sounds and is capable of resisting the huge string tension of more than 20 tons without bending.
  • 14) Rim
Made of 3mm beech veneer stripes, torsion-free bonding. The rim is the frame of a grand piano. It connects the instrument’s parts and gives it its shape.
  • 15) Keyboard
Made of best fine spruce. The link between player and instrument that transmits all emotions and powers.
